Welcome to....Kickadonkey?

I am leaving tomorrow for my new apartment in my bf/fiance/lover (I will cover this some other time) so lovingly refers to as Kickadonkey. It is a small, small town that I will be living in for the next year. It has a post office, a hardware store, and a bar/grill that opens at 3pm. All of this is on the same road that runs 'through town.' My apartment building (consisting of 2 apartments, one in front, I'm on the side) is right across from the post office, so I get a PO Box free! I am really excited about this fact. Obviously the name 'Kickadonkey' comes from the fact that it's a really small town in the middle of nowhere. There are only other small towns around it. My bf/fiance/lover comes from a pretty large suburban area, so even getting used to my small hometown of 6,000 was a stretch for him.
Tomorrow I will be packing up my little car and driving the 45 miles to my new place. I hardly get cell reception, and I don't have phone or internet yet. I can only get dial-up...lovely. This means I will be living without too much human/world contact in the next week, and I will also not be posting anymore blogs for at least a week. Instead, I will be trying to keep myself busy watching movies, every season of Sex and the City, and during the day getting my classroom ready at the school where I now have a job.
I know I will have alot to do with my first year of teaching, but I'm a little worried that I'm going to get lonely in Kickadonkey. I've never lived all alone before, and I'm such a people person, that it might be hard to get used to. My love will hopefully come see me often, and I'm hoping friends will too! (wink wink) Also, I'm sure I'll be coming home on the weekends, maybe not every weekend, but a few times a month. In the end, I just hope I'll be happy in Kickadonkey.

Ohh...I almost forgot! The computer people called me today! Letting me know that there are many things wrong with my computer....
-disc drive does not work ----- knew that, it hasn't for 6 months!
-power souce is dying ----- knew that, that's what they told me last time, but it's not dead yet!
-Finally, I have ANOTHER virus ------ but last time they put THEIR own virus protection on!

So I'm just having them take off the virus. It's not worth fixing the other parts, my computer is on it's last gig and then it will byte the dust. I just need to get all my important files off of it and then it can die. It's only going to cost me $110! Can you believe that?! Just for a virus that they said I wouldn't get, when i paid them $200 last time! ugh.

Have a good weekend/week!

A Bit More Dignified....maybe?

I'm sure many of you are wondering..."Why did she put that picture of her on here?" If you are not asking yourself that question, I am referring to the picture of me with the crazy bat hat. Yes, it is not a picture I wanted on my blog for millions to see, but there is a story behind why I chose it.
You see, a few days ago, which is starting to feel like weeks, my computer decided it would become ill. It would not let me log on to my name, even though I switched it to go straight to my desktop. I started to panic. This is not the first time my computer has stopped working, but every time that it does I feel like this might be the end. Now, I have many, many items stored on my computer, which I do not have backed up or saved somewhere else. You would think after having many close calls, I would do so, but I'm always hoping that if I don't save it somewhere else it means it won't die on me since it knows I need it.
So when I could not easily fix the problem, I called in my brother. He also could not seem to get it working. By this time I am trying to breathe deeply and not think of all the stuff that might be lost. The last time my computer became ill, my dad took it to the computer place and they revived it. Therefore, I had my brother unhook all of the cables, and took my computer to the repair shop like a mother would take her child to the emergency room. Unlike the emergency room, computer repair places do not fix the computer right then. Maybe this is something people should look into. I know several people who NEED their computers, and I am one of them. There should be a place where you can take your computer and they will look at it right then and there. Maybe there is a place like this and I just don't know about it. I should be lucky that they even have a computer repair place in this town.
This brings me back to my lovely picture. Since my computer has ALL my pictures on it, I had to make due with what was on myspace, save it from there. The picture is me wearing a hat that is a bat, if you couldn't tell already. I will be changing it as soon as I get my computer back to something a bit more dignified. Might I also point out that I'm wearing my I <3 EIU shirt. It's one of my favorite. A shout out to all Eastern Illinois University alumni!
Like the last 4 days, today is another day that I sit, jumping every time the phone rings, hoping that it will be someone telling me that my computer is going to be fine, and I can come pick it up. Wow, that's kinda sad, isn't it?

Anyway, I've been thinking about what I want to include on here, and I'm thinking about having a special day in which I talk about the same sort of thing every week. I've been reading some blogs that do this and I think it's pretty cool. However, I'm not sure what the theme will be. If you have any suggestions, let me know! I love pleasing the crowd :)

Introducing...

So I'm not sure why I decided to start a blog. I know other people who have started a blog, but they all have some sort of on-going story. Either they have kids, are going to have kids, planning a wedding, or just write about thier life, and it usually is very interesting/funny. So I guess I would be in the last category. I hope this will be about my life, and other thoughts that I want to share. Maybe it will be about my first year as a teacher. I bet I'll have some good stories this coming year. If people don't end up reading this thing, then I guess it will be for me. Maybe someday I can print all of these off, and it will be a great journal that I can keep in the back of my closet. Then every time I clean out the closet, which will most likely be once every other year, I can look back at my heartfelt attempt at blogging.
As for the title, I'm really not sure where this is going yet, so I thought I would try out a few titles and see which one sticks. If you have any ideas, please feel free to give any insight! Also, if you would like to know more about me, let me know, and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability!

Hope you all stay tuned!
