24...just another day.

On Friday, for those who didn't know, I had my 24th birthday. It was just another day. I started out with parent/teacher conferences, which went well. Then I went to Naperville for the weekend. So here's a rundown of the weekend:
--Friday afternoon I went with Barb (my future mother-in-law) and ordered my wedding dress, and got my veil.
--Friday night, Eric wanted to take me to see Where the Wild Things Are. I refused to go. I distinctly remember telling him that I didn't want to see it, also. There is just something about the costumes in that movie that totally creep me out! Every time the commercial for it comes on, I have to change the channel. I really wasn't that interested in the book either. I think it's also creepy. So instead we went out for dinner to Outback with his family, and his brother Brian, his wife Rachel, and her father and sister. I was pretty excited because it was my birthday and the staff sang to me and I got free ice-cream! Now that's a great B-day!
--Saturday we hung out at home till it was time to pass out candy, then we went over to Brian and Rachel's place where they had some people over. They were watching the Yankee's and other sports that I'm not interested in, so I was there for the social aspect and had a good time! :)
--Sunday we went to church, then went to the mall. I made Eric look at wedding rings, and just happened to find what both of us loved! It was really unexpected, but I'm glad that it's one less thing for us to do. Eric's ring is made of tungsten, so it's gun metal gray and has a really cool shape to it. It really fits his personality, I think anyway. Also tungsten is virtually unbreakable, which is also works for him. My ring is called a 'wrap' because it is made to hug my engagement ring. When put with my engagement ring, the big square diamond is in the middle of two small round sapphires and then a small round diamond on the other side of the sapphire. I have seen some rings with the sapphires in it, and fell in love with the look. I love blue, and it's also going to be my wedding color, so why not have it on my wedding ring? The lady also told me the sapphire means eternal love. Awww...lol. Leaving the store, I almost started to freak out a little. I asked Eric if this could really have happened? Did we really find our wedding rings in literally 20 minutes? I can't believe I didn't agonize over every little detail, like I usually do with everything else I buy! Another great thing about it is that we got a really GREAT deal, and came in WAY under budget, which ALWAYS makes me happy! :)

So that my friends was my birthday weekend. I have to say, it was more exciting on the wedding front than the birthday one, but it was still fun!
